It's Time to File an Affidavit of Candidacy for Certain Positions

Thinking about running for election this November? For certain offices, a two-week filing period just opened. Between 8 a.m., May 19 and 5 p.m., June 2, candidates for the following offices should submit the affidavits to the county filing officer at the Government Services Building at 721 Main St. N, Mantorville, or the Minnesota Secretary of State. These offices include: State Senator, State Representative, Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and District Court.

For County offices, the Government Services Building is the filing place.

These offices include: County Commissioners for District One, Four, and Five; and Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors for District One, Two, and Five.

The withdrawal deadline is 5 p.m. June 4.

Please note the Government Services Building will be closed May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

Candidates for city offices and school district offices file between July 28 and Aug. 11.
