Planting season will soon be in full swing. Farm equipment will be sharing the roads with local traffic on every type of road in the county, from narrow township roads to Highway 14.

Please be alert for large, slow equipment and give their operators plenty of room to maneuver.

In some cases, the large equipment may have tracked mud onto the road. Please approach with caution and report any hazardous conditions to law enforcement.

Don’t assume the drivers of the equipment can see you. Please be patient and wait for a safe and legal place to pass the equipment.

Farm equipment operators should be using lights and flashers to make the machinery more visible and the emblem for 'slow-moving vehicles' should be mounted on the machinery.

Equipment operators are urged to drive in the right lane as close to the edge of the road as possible.

Please respect the rules of the road and other drivers. Buckle up and follow the speed limit.
