Chloe Schroeder is the 4-H/Youth Development Educator for Dodge County. Chloe served as an intern last summer in the Extension Office and now holds this part-time position. She graduated from the University of Minnesota, Rochester with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science.

Chloe talked to the Dodge County Commissioners at their meeting July 12 about some her accomplishments in reaching out to youth in Dodge County over the past year.

Chloe led after-school programs at Triton and at Kasson-Mantorville for six weeks during the school year. She also helped with Cloverbud Fun nights which are a county outreach to families and their small children. She assisted with Fiesta Mexicana, an event originated by the Dodge County Puma’s – the Hispanic 4-H group in Dodge Center.

Over the past two summers, she helped organize and run summer day camps for children in three locations. She also helped with a regional 4-H Camp in Austin, an overnight camp held earlier this year.

The summer partnership at Triton included an astronomy program and featuring projects at the Dodge County Fair.

A Summer Project Day at Kasson-Mantorville involved projects with more than 100 children and included sensory bottles, bean mosaics, and imagination gardens. The goal of this program was to give the children a sense of 4-H with room for individuality and an inclusive sense of accomplishment.
